Like I said before: an honest and powerful album. The album cover also perfectly captures the album in one picture. You will find the band's international dates. Everything from the opening seconds of Bullet Ride, perfectly setting the scene for the album to come, to the ending few chords of Another Day in Quicksand and everything in between. To usher in the release of album thirteen I, The Mask in March and without any more delay or introduction, here are what I believe to be the best and worst of In Flames. That trek will be preceded by a just-announced jaunt with All That Remains and All Hail the Yeti. The story of the cover will be revealed via the full album artwork on March 1st, which coincides with each song on the album.
Please wish Niclas the best as he stays home to rest. Former Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick Act Of Defiance is steping in for Engelin. You could say it was a big part of our inspiration for this album. The new album was mixed by Chris Lord-Alge Cheap Trick, Linkin Park and mastered by Ted Jensen Pantera, Eagles, Guns N' Roses. Even after hundreds of times of hearing songs like; Alias, Delights and Angers, Move Through Me and the emotional gut-punch of The Chosen Pessimist, they never grow old on me. Clayman once again shows off amazing riffs, incredible vocals and is something you could once again spin cover-to-cover endlessly. The album is also pretty catchy.
A smooth and mysterious sound opens this album, continued with a whispering voice. We feel extremely thankful for that, and for the support that makes it possible. In their own ways, they are all unstoppable titans of their field though. You could say it was a big part of our inspiration for this album. Clocking in at just over 40 minutes, The Jester Race is an outstanding display of the best riffs that Swedish death metal has to offer; Lord Hypnos, Dead Eternity, title track, Artifacts of the Black Rain, Moonshield etc.
In Flames brought some major names on board for I, The Mask, including industry staples Howard Benson for production, Chris Lord-Alge for mixing and Ted Jensen for mastering. In a music scene full of seemingly endless subgenres and transient trends, In Flames are an example of what it means to steadfastly stay true to your vision. But the same truth that also can be painful. All that was good about The Jester Race, the developed guitar work and confidence of Whoracle too came to define the perfect album. But any record has to be taken on its own merits and on that basis, Battles is just a decent pop-metal record. The former comes complete with a proper music vid, while the latter has a lyric video. The battles inside your head.
Let it be known that I love this album and believe that the highs found here; title track, Crawl Through Knives, Leeches and the duet Dead End, far bolster this album to a new level among their mid era releases. There isn't much to say about I, The Mask that hasn't already been said about In Flames since the band veered toward a more commercial sound. Maybe people would have given it a pass or even loved it. The story behind the album itself is very interesting, the band essentially made a demo then lied they had a full release out to get on a label, and this shows. Where I think Clayman wins out ever so slightly is in the choruses, Clayman is just that little bit more catchy and features songs and moments that in my mind are a little more memorable. In Flames was initially formed by Jesper Stromblad in 1990, in hopes to combine the melodic elements heavy metal bands like Iron Maiden with the crushing brutality of death metal such as Entombed and Dismember.
I, The Mask isn't hopeless, however. You could say it was a big part of our inspiration for this album. If the three singles are anything to go by, This is Our House withstanding, then Battles should be moved on from in stride in search of something stronger. Songs such as Dead Ships Dwell, Deliver Us, Darker Times, Fear is the Weakness and especially A New Dawn, helped to cement a new identity for a band without direction. This is Our House 07.
We dedicate our 13th album, I, The Mask to our fans who allow us to keep making music and playing it every night. That said, there are good riffs there, and when Anders does decide to growl his voice can still make even the most hardened man tremble and shudder. Pre-orders for the album itself appear to be planned to launch on January 11th. The tracks are polite, predictable, well-packaged, easily sold and effortlessly consumed — the perfect product for casual listeners. We dedicate our 13th album, I, The Mask, to our fans who allow us to keep making music and playing it every night.
The truth that can be relieving, or revealing. In Flames as a collective is bigger than the individual, and we are very strong as a unit. It might not be as raw or angry as Come Clarity but as I listen to both back to back, this album stays more in my mind. A new video trailer can be seen below: Watch two previous trailers below: The 12-track album reunites them with multi-Grammy nominated producer Howard Benson My Chemical Romance, Motörhead who also produced 2016's Battles. The album offers some astute social commentary that doesn't come across as sanctimonious, and the overall theme does tie the final product together nicely. We dedicate our 13th album, I, The Mask to our fans who allow us to keep making music and playing it every night. In Flames will release their new album, I, The Mask, on March 1st via Eleven Seven Music in North America, and on Nuclear Blast throughout the rest of the world.
In addition to various U. An extremely divisive yet I believe underrated album in the field of rock, if it was any other band who made this and not In Flames then who knows? Since forming in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1990 the legendary melodic metal act have toured the planet countless times and influenced many of today's biggest metal acts without ever ceasing to push their own signature sound forward. Dark, melancholic, dreary and dripping in cold, damp atmosphere, whilst it may be a little cleaner and lighter in places, I believe the brevity only serves to highlight the darkness. Chris Lord-Alge Cheap Trick, Linkin Park was brought on to mix. We feel extremely thankful for that, and for the support that makes it possible.
