Thanks to the help of Coach Bombay, the team begins winning games and reaching the finals. As the Ducks are getting use to their new settings, they are rudely encountered by the varsity hockey team. D3: The Mighty Ducks is the third and final installment of the Mighty Ducks Trilogy. He immediately becomes even more downtrodden after meeting the misfit kids.
After Orion decides to abandon many team traditions including disallowing the Ducks uniforms. It shows how the past can childhood events can follow one through adulthood and affect relationships for years to come. Pleased with his decision, Orion allows him back. The story focuses on teamwork, the value of mutual respect, and overcoming adversity. In their first game with Orion as their coach, they blow a big lead resulting in a tie. However, he eventually gains the respect of the kids and teaches them how to win, gaining a sponsor on the way and giving the team the name of The Ducks. After a drunk driving arrest, the judge orders him to coach a down and out hockey team as community service.
Gordon Bombay, a hotshot lawyer, is haunted by memories of his childhood, when, as the star player in his champion hockey team, he lost the winning goal in a shootout, thereby losing the game, and the approval of his coach. Gordon takes Charlie to Eden Hall to see Orion skating with his disabled daughter. They bring in Gordon as their attorney to successfully argue their case. Charlie instantly dislikes Orion for his style of coaching, a style unfamiliar to the Ducks. The rise, fall, and eventual redemption of the coach embraces the concept of overcoming the past.
